This was one of the last motorcycle combinations in service with the Automobile Association. It was withdrawn in 1968 when the programme to re-equip patrols with minivans was complete.
The motorcycle is a 600 cc side-valve M.21 B.S.A. For AA use heavier suspension springs were fitted, and to charge the larger battery needed, an alternator replaced the usual dynamo. The two-way radio fitted was one of the last all-valve sets to be manufactured by Pye of Cambridge.
