The Science Museum's astronomy collection spans from the 10th century to the 21st century. It includes instruments for skywatching, navigation and timekeeping; maps and globes; teaching and demonstration equipment and representations of astronomy in popular culture.

We are currently planning a major temporary exhibition, Cosmos & Culture, to celebrate International Year of Astronomy in 2009. The exhibition opens in July and many of the objects in this category will be on display. Over the coming months we'll be adding new objects to this section.
