Time-switch connected to an electric tumbler switch. The switch is of a type first introduced about 1905.
[edit] How it works
The mechanism of the early time-switch is identical with that of the first Horstmann gas-controller, patented in 1904-5, but in the time-switch the operating crank is connected to an electric tumbler switch instead of to the plug of the gas-cock.
