Nuclear power set many new engineering challenges. This tracked robot vehicle could carry a camera into areas of new nuclear reactors that humans could not safely enter.

[edit] How it works

This little robot is like a remote controlled toy car, but it also has a camera attached to it.

The signals telling it where to go, and the feed from the camera, flow along a large cable instead of through the air as radio waves. This allowed people to see inside the dangerous environment of a nuclear reactor where they could not go themselves.
