Praktica PL Nova 1 Pentaprism single-lens reflex camera, 1967

Made between 1967 and 1976 in East Germany, designed by Herbert Welzel, it debuted at the Leipzig Spring Fair 1967. Over 800,000 PL Novas were made. Prakticas were cheaper than Japanese SLRs like Nikon, Canon and Pentax. They acquired a loyal following.

[edit] How it works

A camera lets light in through the lens onto light sensitive film. When the film is full then the photograph is developed chemically and a print is made.

[edit] Memories

I remember one very much like it, the Nova 1b, 40 years old, and it still works.
