Sun duration electronic sensor, When the Sun is more active, it emits more light and heat. The variations are subtle (about 0.1%) but nevertheless significant. Satellite measurements indicate that the effect of the Sun has been to contribute to a relative cooling over the last 30 years.
[edit] How it works
Photoelectric cells form the sensor, and duration is measured in a data collector nearby
