The gas companies were business opportunities for investors, and a degree of civic pride was reflected in the designs of the seals used for share certificates. This selection comes from the former southern gas companies – there were over 900 in total in the UK.
The Wandsworth and District Gas Company chose a gasholder and factory for their motif.
